I am often asked what is the best method to use Gym Acid, our hypochlorous acid spray, so I thought I would share how I personally use it for my routine/life. Each person will have their own methods/reasons for use based on their lifestyle/needs.

  1. Pre-Workout Spray
I hit the gym first thing in the morning, so upon waking up I spray my body (face, back, chest and shoulders being more acne prone areas) and let air dry (roughly 20 minutes) while I get my pre-workout together and ready for the gym. This sets me up to have clean, resilient skin that will help fight any odour causing bacteria that clogs up pores as I workout.
*If you train later in the day this still applies, spray pre-workout.
  2. Post-Workout Spray
Immediately post workout. Bring a clean shirt to the gym and as soon as you are done, spray down again to help kill off any odour causing bacteria that can clog pores from all the sweat, benches..etc from your workout. Let quickly air dry and throw on a clean shirt to drive home in rather than letting that sweat dry onto your skin, clogging pores, causing skin issues.
  3. Post-Shower Spray
I shower once home and towel dry off, and now that I have a clean base to start with, I spritz again as part of my AM morning skincare routine.
*this is where you want to ensure it is FULLY dry before applying any other skincare products. It can inactivate some products with antioxidants, please allow it to fully dry for 20-30 minutes prior to applying moisturizers or other skin products to avoid any issues. If you tend to have dryer skin, a skin/acne specific lotion here with spot treatment for more severe acne may be a good addition, but always consult your dermatologist for suggestions/advice.
  4. Daytime Skin Refresh
Daytime "cleanse" as the day goes on, or you break a sweat working. A quick refresh once or twice a day as needed to keep the skin revitalized and resilient to building up that pore clogging, odour causing bacteria.
  5. Pre-Bed Spray
I personally shower 2x/day as someone who runs hot/sweats lots, so I follow my same morning shower routine in the PM before bed as a final night time, pre-bed setup. If you don't shower at night, a pre-bed spray would be a good idea to hit the sack with hypochlorous acid cleansed skin rather than straight to bed with everything that accumulated during the day.

Everyone will have different lifestyles or needs. Some just for the gym post-workout is all that is needed, some use Gym Acid for their long hot days at work, during sports or outdoor adventures. Its versatile to fit every person, every skin type, and any lifestyle. Easy to apply, spray and let dry.
